Overview

Kram is a study app that helps users turn text, PDFs, PowerPoint files, shared content, and photos into study materials such as summaries, explanations, quizzes, flashcards, and review blocks. This Privacy Policy explains how Kram handles information when you use the app.

Information Kram handles

• Study content you choose to add, including typed or pasted text, shared text, PDFs, PowerPoint files, selected page or slide text, photos, captions, OCR text, generated study materials, note titles, subjects, and study progress.
• Local app data, including notes, subjects, settings, onboarding status, downloaded AI model status, and recall or practice history.
• Usage and diagnostics data, such as app screens viewed, feature interactions, model download status, document type, approximate input-size buckets, error states, device/app information, and other analytics events.
• Support information you choose to send us, such as emails, messages, screenshots, device details, or troubleshooting information.

How Kram uses information

Kram uses information to provide the app's study features, generate study materials, save your notes and settings, show study progress, improve app reliability, understand feature usage, troubleshoot issues, and respond to support requests.

AI processing

Kram currently generates study materials on your device using a downloaded local AI model. Your note text, selected document text, photos, captions, OCR text, and generated study materials are not uploaded to Kram servers for AI processing in the current version.

Kram may connect to the internet to download the local AI model and model metadata, send analytics, and support normal app or platform services.

Analytics

Kram uses Firebase Analytics in production builds to understand app usage and improve reliability. Kram is designed not to send raw note text, document text, photo content, note titles, file names, search queries, or note IDs as custom analytics parameters.

Analytics events may include non-content information such as screen views, feature usage, selected document type, approximate input-size buckets, model download events, and error categories.

Storage and retention

Study content and generated materials are stored locally on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Downloaded AI model files remain on your device until you delete the model or uninstall the app.

Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider settings and policies. Support messages are kept as long as needed to respond, maintain records, protect rights, and improve support.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate Kram, such as analytics, app distribution, model hosting, infrastructure, and customer support providers. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to us.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights, safety, or security, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Your choices

• You can delete notes and study content in the app.
• You can delete the downloaded local AI model from Settings.
• You can control device permissions, such as camera, photo, file, sharing, and notification permissions, through your device settings.
• You can uninstall Kram to remove locally stored app data from your device.
• You can contact us for privacy-related questions or requests about information we may hold about you, such as support messages.

Children

Kram is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate consent, contact us and we will review the request.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. Because study content is stored locally on your device, you should also protect your device with a passcode, biometric lock, and up-to-date operating system. No app or storage method can guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice when appropriate.
