Clear terms for studying with Kram.

Overview

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Kram. By using Kram, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Study tool, not professional advice

Kram helps you create and review study materials. Kram is not a substitute for your own judgment, a teacher, or professional advice. AI-generated materials may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or outdated. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them.

AI features and model notice

Kram currently uses Gemma 4 E2B, an open model built by Google DeepMind, for local AI study features. The model helps generate text output such as summaries, explanations, quizzes, flashcards, and review blocks from content you choose to add.

Google's Gemma 4 model card identifies Gemma 4 as licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0, and describes Gemma 4 E2B as supporting text, image, and audio inputs while generating text output. You can review the official Gemma 4 model card and Gemma 4 license.

The names Google, Google DeepMind, and Gemma are used only to describe the origin of the model. Kram is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google or Google DeepMind.

Open model license notice

Gemma 4 is provided by Google LLC under the Apache License, Version 2.0. The Apache License requires recipients to receive a copy of the license, preserve applicable notices, and avoid using licensor trademarks except for reasonable descriptive use. The license also provides the model on an "AS IS" basis, without warranties or conditions of any kind.

If Kram distributes modified, converted, or packaged model files, we will provide applicable modification notices where required.

Acceptable use

You may not use Kram or its AI features for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, infringing, privacy-invasive, or abusive activity. This includes using Kram to:

• Violate applicable laws, regulations, or the rights of any person or organization.
• Create, upload, or distribute content that infringes copyrights, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other rights.
• Facilitate dangerous, illegal, or malicious activity, including scams, phishing, malware, spam, or instructions for unlawful conduct.
• Create or promote child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation, violent extremism, hate, harassment, self-harm, or real-world violence.
• Practice or provide unlicensed professional services, including legal, medical, accounting, financial, or similar advice.
• Make automated decisions that affect a person's rights, opportunities, access to services, or well-being.
• Impersonate others, misrepresent AI-generated content as human-created to deceive people, or create misleading claims of expertise or capability.
• Generate, collect, infer, or distribute personal, sensitive, or private information without all required rights, authorizations, and consents.
• Attempt to bypass, disable, or undermine safety features or usage limits.
• Create sexually explicit content for pornography or sexual gratification.

These rules are intended to align Kram's use of Gemma with Google's Gemma Prohibited Use Policy.

Your content and outputs

You are responsible for the study content you add to Kram and for how you use generated study materials. Do not add content unless you have the right to use it. Kram does not claim ownership of your notes, documents, photos, or generated study materials.

Privacy

Kram's handling of study content, local AI processing, analytics, storage, and support information is described in the Privacy Policy. In the current version, AI study generation runs on your device using a downloaded local model, and your study content is not uploaded to Kram servers for AI processing.

Third-party services

Kram may rely on third-party services such as app stores, analytics, model hosting, infrastructure, and platform services. Those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Changes and availability

We may update Kram, change features, add or remove AI models, or revise these terms from time to time. When we make changes to these terms, we will update the date above.
